His mother abandoned him at the hospital, he was born very prematurely, and his mother did not even know how far along she was. Little Sasha survived cardiac arrest several times, but desperately fought for a chance to live. A life that was almost taken away from him again by a full-scale war \ud83d\udc94.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Sokolovsky family from Kherson has been volunteering since 2014, helping in Crimea and the ATO zone, supporting orphanages. The family already has adult children, but on 18 January 2022 they became parents of a 6-month-old orphan boy with a disability.<\/p>\n

The family faced a full-scale war in Kherson and was forced to flee to a village near Chornobaivka. The foster mother led a guerrilla unit, was taken prisoner and went through many terrible things, but she managed to escape. Thus, the family, raising a boy with a disability, lived for months without electricity and water under occupation.<\/p>\n

After the liberation of part of Kherson region, they moved to Kyiv region, where they live now. They cannot return to their native Kherson, as their house was flooded as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, and the city is under constant shelling.<\/p>\n

Today Sasha is 2.5 years old, but his physical development is only 9 months old. His back muscles are not functioning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The boy needed a verticaliser to be able to move and develop! Thanks to it, Sasha will be able to stand and sit. He will be able to see the world in front of him and learn new things.<\/p>\n

We raised funds ( UAH 130 thousand) and paid for the manufacture of a verticaliser specifically for Sasha’s needs. This verticaliser will last for several years, and then there is a chance that his muscular skeleton will get stronger and he will be able to hold his head and other parts of his body on his own.<\/p>\n

Now, thanks to this verticaliser, he will be able to develop fine motor skills, learn to hold his head and see objects in front of him. He will be able to develop and learn new things, because now his musculoskeletal system has an assistant.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sasha, we believe in you, we believe in your strength and bright future. Because you deserve it! And we will stay by your side.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are very grateful to our benefactors for supporting this story, this family who lost their home in Kherson region, but still volunteer and continue to take care of the boy and even plan to take more children under their care. Because they feel the need to give love and care to those in need.<\/p>\n
