The “Room of Happiness” project has been operating since 2021, currently it works in 3 hospitals in 2 cities of Ukraine – Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. As part of the “Room of Happiness” project, the foundation creates specially equipped play spaces and provides psycho-emotional support to children who have been left without parents (removed from dysfunctional families or lost their parents) and are in hospitals. They remain in medical institutions until the court determines the child’s fate. In our activities, we pay special attention to children in difficult life situations. They are in hospitals, undergoing examinations and awaiting a decision on their fate during court proceedings, while social services look for foster families for them. Often this process takes a long time, and during this period children experience significant stress and psychological trauma.
In such rooms, children can find something to do, get psychological support from specialists, and forget about all their difficulties for a while. In addition, volunteers and project partners work with children in hospital shelters during times of anxiety and outside of play spaces, providing psychological training and counselling.
The project aims to improve the psycho-emotional state of children who have been removed from their families due to difficult life circumstances and inappropriate treatment.
