Support for family forms of care: The Vasylievs’ FTO

The Vasyliev family-type orphanage is an IDP from the Kherson region and is raising 11 orphans. (A month ago, they took in another 2-year-old orphan boy from Kherson).

They lost everything, they lost their big house, and now they have even lost faith that they can ever return home.

They have to rent a large apartment in the city of Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) to accommodate all 11 orphans. A large amount of money is spent on rent and utilities, as well as on the treatment of children who are often ill. So the family simply does not have the money to buy the necessary appliances.

The Foundation purchased a boiler for them to heat water, as previously they had to heat water in pots for the children to bathe in. It also has a freezer for stockpiling and a dishwasher for 11 orphans.

They had all this before in the Kherson region. But they lost everything they had in their house.

And now, with the support of philanthropists, we have helped them to return to normal life at least a little bit.

The Foundation’s team also went to visit the family, brought gifts to the children and had a warm chat, because we are all one big family.
